Lets talk swim baits

    Been throw a swim bait some both during the dày and at night. I'm getting fish to bite the bait but I can't get a hook in them. I know for sure at night the fish are stripers so the bait isn't to big. How do you guys get them to hook up? Do you kill the bait when the fish hit the bait and then set the hook? Love throwing the bait but hate missing the fish.
