Need help smoke coming out of my trolling motor foot pad

    had the trolling motor on high for a minute or two and looked down and smoke was rolling out of the foot pad. Black wire underneath was very hot. Doesn't do it at low speeds. Motor works fine. Thoughts? Thinking it's time to send it off to Jones for repair.
