Received an Awesome Package Today !

Back in April, I participated in a tournament called "Warriors on the Water". What it boils down to is you volunteer to take a current military
person out for a day of fishing. I think this is the 8th year they've done it, but this was my first time participating, mainly because the lake ( Jordan) is about 100 miles from me. They limit the boater volunteers to 150 and this year they they had 150 with 30 + standbys. They have an " ice breaker " evening at Ft. Bragg 2 days before the tournament in order for you to meet your military partner. I was lucky enough to draw a Marine ( being an old Jarhead myself) who is in his 20th year of active duty. He's worked his way up the enlisted ranks and is now a Warrant Officer. He's hoping to make it a few more years before retiring ( he's only 40). He's been to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once. We didn't have a very productive day fishing , weather sucked, cloudy, rainy, with 20-30 mph winds, but we did a lot of talking. It was a great day for me and I think for him as well.
Today, I received a package in the mail from him with a USMC cap, T-shirt, decals, and commerative coin. ( pics attached ). Gotta tell ya, brought a tear to my old eyes. In his words, he just wanted to thank me for taking him fishing and for sharing my Nam stories with him. What a Marine this guy is ! Semper Fi !
