I've read every recent thread on this forum about gun control and figured it would calm down in coming weeks. Now, I'm not so sure. I don't have stress; I give stress. I used to have that sign on my desk. I was talking today with a former collegue who will retire soon. He asked for a federal permit and was told it was up in the air. I seems people like ourselves, who have guarded the US for a career, may be considered too highly trained to be allowed to carry by the very gov't we protected. He said it was not too far fetched that we could not get a carry license from our state. As you guys know, I'm a Nam vet and I'll admit now to being a RED. Who would be better suited to carry a weapon? A well trained person such as myself or a soccer mommy. Just doesn't make sense. There are several thousand people who served in the IC who carry weapons in retirement. I have never heard of any of us going off the ranch nd running amok. Most stay as quiet as they did while working. I'm already preparing a letter to my Senators and Congressman and will tell them I am more than happy to go before a confgressional committee to present my case. As you, I hope alll this rhetoric is hype and little take place.
