29th Year with my Best Friend.

Just got home from Gatlingburg, Tenn. What a crowd and unbelievable traffic. As some say in South Louisianna, "I walked My Coon-Ars Off". We stayed in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. a little ways down the road from G'burg. Two things to definately do if going to the area. #1 It's expensive but overall go to Dollywood. Check the internet and get some discount coupons for entry tickets. Go to Dollywood very early and spend all day there. Everything you can think to do is in Dollywood for young and old. #2 Check out the Dixie Stampede for dinner, I suggest the 3:30pm show It isn't as crowded and sometimes you can get a better seat due to no shows. That gives time to go to the show and then after it is over go down into G'burg to walk the streets and the shops. If you like Pancakes for breakfast I have never seen so many Pancake houses in one stretch of road anywhere. I would suggest making reservations ONLINE for lodging. I was told with Tenn having a weekend off and no Football was part of the reason for the large crowds. I think the whole place is like the Beach except in the mountains. Oh Bye the way do take and wear your college and or university colors. Lots of Alabama, some Georgia, a few South Carolina, a smiggin' of Kentucky, I did see one North Carolina Tarheel, and ONE Bayou Bengal LSU in his Purple and Gold wondering around those Tennennsee Mountains. "Got to love it!"
