Something that I came up with myself a couple of years ago and is a great way to adjust the depth of your lure when vertical drop shotting. Instead of tying the hook on the line I put 2 micro stops above and 2 below the hook. It saves having to mess about cutting and re-tying the weight and saves LOADS of time. You are able to easily slide the hook up or down the line and it gives more than enough hold when you strike into a fish. Another benefit is that once hooked the "hook" will slowly be drawn down towards the weight so that it's not hanging well below the fish ready to catch every snag going. I've experimented loads but keeping it simple really does work. Just make sure that you have very tight micro stops. I'll post a pic if you don't get the idea and if anybody wants to know what a micro stop looks like I found these on ebay at the moment.(Not sure if you have any uses for them in the states) http://cgi.ebay.com/Solar-Tackle-Mi...ingAcces_RL&hash=item19c257102b#ht_1239wt_905
This is one of my secret rigs but I'm just feeling damn generous tonight....or is it the red wine. Let me know if any of you guys try it out and I think you really will be amazed how well it works.:tooth:
