Anyone Seen Anything Like This ?

    I have a 2009 Ford Edge that I bought new in 2009. Bought it locally at Parkway Ford. The other day, I got a letter from Parkway stating that they want to buy my car because of the high demand for good used local vehicles due to Hurricane Sandy. The letter states:

    " You are receiving this letter because I have some very timely and important information about your 2009 Ford Edge.

    " Superstorm Sandy damaged over 250,000 vehicles and the subsequent demand demand for pre-owned vehicles is dramatically driving prices up. Additionally, the wave of flood damaged vehicles from Sandy entering the automotive auctions where we normally purchase vehicles poses risks for our wholesale buyers and we simply do not want to risk our reputation by inadvertantly re-selling one of these vehicles."

    "I am writing you to make a direct, personal appeal to buy your 2009 Ford Edge. We need local vehicles with local histories-vehicles with a pedigree so to speak. You are under no obligation to purchase anything to receive a written offer.

    "PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOUR VEHICLE HAS INCREASED IN VALUE SINCE SANDY AND WE ARE PAYING ACCELERATED MARKET VALUES RIGHT NOW."

    Does this sound legit? Not reallylooking for a new car, but I might consider.
