Being most familiar with Oklahoma, and Texas, the lakes named wouldn't have been my first choice, and the coastal states in the south tended to lean towards surf fishing the Gulf, though a couple of good fresh water lakes such as Guntersville in Alabama were listed.

Check it out and see if you agree with their choices for your area.

Regarding Oklahoma lakes, I have really been too long gone from their to make an informed decision other than a couple of small, less fished, lakes from my distant past, so I'll leave it up to Chaw to wade in there and say whether or not Lake of the Arbuckles was the right choice for the article. I think it is likely a very good lake, just not sure it would have been my first choice.

Regarding Texas, obviously a couple of the big lakes come to mind, such as Lake Fork, and Sam Rayburn, but even then there are four or five small waters that I personally would choose over those, and especially over Lake Aquilla listed in the article.
