Confused

Ok so my boss is on a week long vacation. Since starting the new job I have been staying fairly busy but thought I could be doing more and felt like the boss could give me a little more instead of taking the appts himself. SO with him being gone htis week I thought for sure I would be swamped covering what he wasn't.. Well it is the the opposite. I got nothing today and minimal so far the rest of the week.
