Death of a Lake ?

I've fished a lake for 45 years, we call it the " factory " because it was great large and small mouth. I would take vacations when I lived in Florida to come to NH for 2 weeks every year to fish it. The last couple years the fish have vanished! You can spend 8 hours and maybe , MAYBE catch a couple and NO smallies.A friend that works for Fish and Game had it shocked to see what's up but he hasn't seen the results yet( he didn't do the shocking ). You used to see wall to wall beds and now nothing. I do catch larger fish when I do catch them but it appears the lack of differant size fish to me means the spawn is missing. What do y'all think ?
