First keeper

    Just Piddling .

    Normally when we take my boy fishing, we crappie or bream fish. A couple of weeks ago he had a crankbait on and hooked a LM at the boat and lost it. Ever since, he has talked about bass fishing. So we get on the water at 5:45 this morning, thinking he might get a top water fish. He hooked one on a baby torpedo, but lost it within a couple of seconds.He never got another bite on the top water. I was getting frustrated because I thought his chances for the day were over.:head_on_wall:


    Later we went to a point and some bait fish were popping the water. We got a Shad Rap tied on figuring he might catch a small one. After a few cast, he said "got one" and was just a reeling. His first bass (caught by himself) while bass fishing was a KEEPER.:dancing_banana:


    We had it out of the water for a while to get the pics, so he had to hold it in the water till it was ready to swim off. He had saw me do this before and thinks you have to do it for every fish anyhow. :doh:


    And he does have sunglasses and a hat, but doesn't wear them much
