Fried Squirrel and Dove

Discussion in 'Talk, Talk (off topic)' started by Just Piddling, Dec 31, 2011.

  1. Every year I make a pot of Brunswick stew with squirrel, dove and deer. Pork and chicken get used to make the remainder of the meat that is short for a pot.

This year, we had a bunch of squirrels, so I told the boy I would fry him a squirrel and dove up, since you can't really taste the individual meats in the stew. So, we had a small young squirrel, a old big one (with a nut sack as big as a hickory nut), and a dove breast.

I forgot how good dove was. :Cool_thumbs_up: The young squirrel was great, the old squirrel was like rubber (I knew it would be). The boy gnawed and picked the meat off every bone.
