Game Camera question..

I got a game camera the other day. Not a real expensive one, somewhere in the low 100 range.. The instructions and spec sheet say Infrared ..

So I put it up, and in the dark I can see the 'flash'.. it is a dull faint red glow, but I can see it, and it draws the attention of the 'game' I want to photograph.

Is this normal, or do I have to go up another tier to get a camera that takes pictures at night and remains totally invisible??
