Got a Bigun today.

    So, I head out today, last day of the online tournament, trying to upgrade my bag. Whip up on one of my "honey holes" about 8 am and in about an hours time, I have 5 fish in the boat. All are in the 15-16" range. I'm thinking this is gonna be a good day! Well, things go dry for awhile. The wind picks up and I head to one of my favorite rocky points up in Crane Creek.
    I'm chunking a crank bait and I hook up with a really big fish. This fish is probably in 2 or 3 ft of water when it hits and heads straight for the boat. I'm thinkin I've got the "Mac Daddy" bass ! Well, it didn't take long to figure out that this was a catfish.
    I mean, he's pulling my drag like crazy and by this time, he's right under the boat, but I can't get him up to where I can see him. I fought this fish for 10-15 minutes. round and round the boat. The wind has blown the boat out to sea in about 30' of water. I finally wear him ( and me ) out and get him up to the top. This SOB is about 2 and 1/2 ft long and as big around as my thigh. Had to weigh at least 12-15 lbs. The bad part is, he's hooked in the tail! Didn't want this slimey sucker in my boat, so I grabbed my pliers, got a hold of the hook that was in his tail, and managed to jerk it out. Good riddance! But it was fun!
