Gran Torino

I've heard so much about how great this movie is, so I finally watched it. Well I didn't like it. Ever since Unforgiven, Eastwood has to have some deep meaning in all of his movies.

I'm not a pinhead who likes to discuss and analyze the deep meaning of a movie and what message the director was trying for. I just want to watch a shoot em up movie, where the good guy kills everybody at the end. Not a movie where the good guy gives him self up unarmed, so the bad guys go to jail. As the movie went off, I'm sitting here thinking they ought to make a sequel, where the bad guys spend 5 years in prison, come back and kill the young boy and his sister, making the good guys surrender in vain.

The perfect ending for this movie would have been a reenactment of Hang Em High, where Clint picks them off one at a time, till the last ones are terrified knowing he's coming after them.

I miss Josey Wales, Dirty Harry, Hang Em High, and the other Clint movies. No more of this " Oh that was such a deep movie" bull crap.

Now I'm going to have to stay up and watch The Last Boyscout, so I can reaffirm what an action movie is supposed to be like.
