Guess its time for some new cables

    Seeing at its a great day in the great state of CT, I decided to do a lil maintenance on the boat. First I figured Id put a new top cover on my trolling motor and adjust it so it doesnt turn 400* one way and 270* the other. Popped the steering gear off and the steering pinion gear is shot, two busted teeth on that. Ok, its a 16 yr old tm, no biggy, I found it at Boats.net for $21.

    Next on my list was to check my steering cables, had been having a hard time with them the past couple years, figured Id pull them off the helm and take a look. I knew I had duel cables, but I thought it was on rack and two cables, no I was wrong, two racks, two cables on one helm. So I get the first cable off and it looks ok. Turn the wheel and its skipping, rut row. I pull that rack and cable off, its not pretty.

    Time to start saving up some $$$$ and lots of OT, if I can get it, is in my near future. Did find the cables for right around $100 a piece. Guess Ill be a boat ho/shore whore for a while.
