Had about 35 lb. today

    I went out early and the bass fishing stunk. The big Gar are up to spawn, so I went Gar fishing. I cut about 10 in. off a bright yellow poly rope. I unraveled it except for about an inch in the middle and tied it on 30 lb. test. You cast the rope and steadily retireve it. When the Gar strike it, they get their teeth caught in the unraveled rope. I get them to the boat and after having a blast bringing them in, I cut the line and tie on new rope. They fight like crazy and are easily caught. Try it some time and make some gar balls for supper if you have the guts.
