Helicopter relief efforts

Over the last week there has been a steady stream of helicopters flying relief sorties from Houston to the Port Arthur & Beaumont areas. Being an aircraft geek all my life if so much as a Piper Cub flies over I want to get a look at it. So you can imagine my excitement at seeing a steady stream of everything from Chinook CH-47, to Blackhawk UH-60's, to Sea Stallion CH-53's, to C-17 Globemaster III's flying low overhead in a steady parade here in Houston. I heard on the news one of the Chinook helicopter pilots say that they had been averaging 25 sorties a day over this last week. I think they are down to just the Chinooks (two of them) now, and I pray that they don't need them for much longer, but it struck me a moment ago that these relief flights had become so common overhead that when one flew over a moment ago... I didn't even look out the window right next to me to see it. I had never thought of the day that would come that I would not be excited to check out a Chinook.

Still might get excited about the Globemaster. It has only came over twice.
