How would you handle this situation

    I bought a new rod this week and it arrived with a damaged tube, which in my opinion was of poor construction. I opened it up and can see no visible damage. Sent an email to the shipper and they got back saying the rod has a manufacturer's lifetime time guarantee. Big deal, pass it back to them!! What would you do? Send it back or wait and see if it breaks? Thanks...BF
