I got an email this morning

From a friend who used to live around here but retired in Texas a few years ago. He sounded pretty excited. I think I would be, too.

Well I finally broke my best~~after fishing this lake 8 years the largest bass I had caught was 6 pounds, Sunday I fished all day {except from 12-3~ I came in to rest} all day long I had caught 1 bass about 11". At 7:30 pm I gave up, put everything away in my boat, including my landing net in the storage, before I cranked the motor I deceided 1 more cast and she hit!! And of cource I couldn't get to my net! She fought me at least 10 minutes but I finally got her in. She weighed 9lbs 11oz. She had already laid her eggs and would have gone well over the 10lb mark if she still had eggs. I called my wife to meet me at the landing { I caught her about 75 yards from the landing} she took pics and we hurried and released her . I'm still shaking with excitement. lol
