I have seen the future.....

    And it is good! My Dad went out and bought me a Ryobi 18V ELECTRIC weed trimmer. Maybe he was sick of me complaining about not having a working trimmer. Maybe he just really wanted his trimmer back. :thinking:
    Anyway, he asked me about what I thought of a cordless electric trimmer. I was skeptical at best. I was afraid that it would lack power, run out of battery too fast, etc. Another thing that I didn't like was that this one only had one string coming out of the head, where my gas powered one had two strings.
    I tell you what: I was wrong on all counts. This thing probably has more power than my old 27cc gas trimmer, weighs half as much, and I trimmed my whole front and back yard with the thing and when I put it back on the charger and had used almost no juice!
    I think I'm officially done with small motors for lawn work. The smart people of the world have come a long way with batteries now. I think my next purchase will be a Ryobi electric leaf blower. The batteries are interchangeable with the whole line of 18V equipment they sell. That's good because these batteries are $90/pair.
