I'll vent over here

I don't know about some of you but I am sick of the media turning Americans against each other. I can't get on the net nor turn on the news without hearing about someone getting laid off, the 1%, the rich needing to pay a little more etc...

It sure would be nice to hear about the fact the government is the LARGEST employer in the country and is the least efficient at what they do with OPM. Most of the leadership has been proven time again to be as big of crooks as those on Wall Street they love to vilify.

Once I'd like to hear about the small biz owner (the second largest employer in America) that is getting HAMMERED by cost of meeting new regulations that never seem to stop pouring in, fuel cost that have continued to go up, health care cost that have changed alright....they have gone up even MORE, energy cost have sky rocketed and they don't get the cushy breaks of the fortune 500 that employee about seven percent of America. 50% of most small business owners profit goes to taxes in one way or another.

I know a few of these owners and exec teams that have cut their pay/bonuses year after year/ and yes finally the past two years been forced to lay people off. Let me tell you it's a SICK FEELING!!!! Where is the media showing the person that risked everything they own basically taking less money home than those that work for them in hopes the company can stay afloat?

I saw one "I hate people who lay off right before Christmas". Let me tell you there is NEVER a good time to lay off and you never know how long the company has been carrying the person nor the severance they got. Yes, some companies are dirt bags but far from all of them! Christmas can't matter to the company if it does business today. Everything is "Happy Holidays" for fear of pissing someone off....which pisses me off but as a Christian I am in the minority.

Pray for our country. While many businesses continue to cave into "Happy Holidays" they will damn sure take Christmas off with pay. Something has to change...we must go back to doing business with ethics while taking care of fellow Americans if we have a chance of leaving anything for our children and Grandchildren.
