I used to have the 2nd largest LM caught in NH in 1981. My would of been State Record of 10-10 was during the spawn and had to be immeadiatly released, so it didn't count ofishially. I inquired at State Fish and Game wondering where I stood and this is the reply I got.

    Hi Fred

I received your inquiry from HQ about the ten largest bass caught in NH. I would have to say you are probably still #2. but when my secretary gets back from vacaction I will have her access the database to confirm the standings. That was quite a fish, where did you catch that?

I spoke to a gentleman years ago that brought pictures of a bass he had caught and released from Horseshoe Pond/Merrimack. He had a picture of this extremely large bass (largemouth) hanging from a Berkeley digital scale, and the scale read 12 pounds 4 ounces! He had the scale with him, I tested it, and it was 5 ounces over! The bass he released would have been the new state record! He told me he thought it was still catch and release season on bass (June 16), he actually could have kept the fish as the season for releasing bass had ended the day before!
