    Spawn is almost over-- a lot of empty beds. Caught a few small fish and not much going on.
    A couple of guys in a new Ranger came up to me. They were all duded out in new clothes and new gear. They asked me when the bass were going to spawn. I told them that the bass spawned at 1038 last Thurs. and they had missed it. One guy looks at his buddy and says " I told you we should have fished in mid-week ". I fired up the engine and left before I broke out in laughter.

    An old joke but unfortunately a true story.
