Old Reel

    I was looking in the catalog at reels this morning and at the price. Price seems to be related to the amount and quality of ther bearings. My newer reels have between 8-10 bearings and are very smooth. However, I pitch with an old Lew's Speed Spool that has only 2 bearings. That 2 bearing reel pitches about 20-30 ft. further than the 10 bearing reels and feels almost as smooth. Could be the reels were better made 20+ years ago?
