Revolts are pretty easy to start but difficult to win. An exception is when there is a revolt in a well educated society. The middle east is a perfect example of this. There is a large percentage of men in the middle east who have degrees. They also do not have jobs. An example is the Palestinian males where 70% have a degree but no job. This is one of the reasons for unrest in the area around Israel. Egypt is another example where the government is repressive of an educated population. The poor are not the ones taking to the streets. It is the educated who are frustrated with their lot in life. The rest of the muslim world is similar. The regimes repress the educated; there is little or no middle class; there are no jobs; essentials like food and water are limited; the wealth rests with a few; power becomes hereditary--all that is needed is a spark and Tunisia may have provided it.
