So when we bought our house in 2001 and everything up until now has said the house was 1356 sq ft, the city just did a re-evaluation of the house and says now it measures 1334 sq ft. How can a house loose or gain square footage without an addition or demolition done to the house? We noticed it when the realtor posted the MLS information. Even the town tax records show the house was 1356 sq ft until this last re-evaluation.

I went to the tax assessor's office and told and asked about it. I also informed them some of their measurements were incorrect and some inconsistencies. We have a bow window and from the corner of the house to the corner of the window they have it as 36", my tape measure says 52", there are four of those angles that then would be affected. Also told them they have the house listed as a 1 bath, when actuality its 1.5 bath.

We received a pre-evaluation form that said review the information, mark and changes and return if there changes. We saw made no changes, so did not see the need to return the form, now there is incorrect information that will have to be corrected one way or another.

Told the gentleman I was speaking with if the house is actually 1334 and we have been paying taxes on a 1356 sq ft house, thats an issue.
