St. Louis hit hard

    Two supercells came through the St. Louis area. Many reports of hail up to 4.5 inches shown on TV. Many homes and cars damaged in several nearby towns and St. Louis International Airport was hit hard. The airport terminals and parking garages were hit with folks inside and planes on the field. Many injuries from debris and flying glass. A couple of huge 747 planes were moved by the tornado. The airport is closed indefinately. The controllers in the tower actually saw the tornado hit the airport. One tornado went through several Missouri counties and continued through several more in Illinois. St. Louis city is usually much hotter than the suburbs and when the tornado goes toward the city the heat diverts it to the north or south. Not this week.

    We missed the southern tornado by about 5 miles. The supercell was so big it still got me with large hail. Oh well, I needed a new roof after the supercell came through earlier in the week. The 2 supercells merged in Illinois and I haven't heard of that happening before. Supposed to be another round of severe weather again tomorrow. No time to build the Ark. :innocent0001:
