This is bothering me...

About this Oil Slick.

I know it is a terrible thing and if it reaches the shore, it can wreak havoc on things. What is bothering me here is this; There were a number of men killed at the onset of this disaster yet all I'm hearing in the media is about how it will hinder the Earth and certain businesses along the coastline. There are families today whose fathers, brothers, sons and uncles, who will not be home tonight. And they are not talking about them. When the disaster happened at the WVa coal mine, all we heard about was the Miners who were missing or had died. We saw interviews with their families and the sorrows they endured. And I felt for them. We did not hear about how the mines would affect the Earth or local economies going caput. They focused on the lives of the men who worked there. And the horrors they faced each day. Why aren't they focused on the same thing with the Oil rigs?? They guys face the same dangers as the Miners did. Common men doing extraordinary work to help this country stay strong.

But, on this, its the Oil Slick and the dangers it harbors. I know it does and all but the Earth is very good on cleaning itself and has amazing powers and properties to defend itself. Hell, oil came out of the earth, and I'm sure it knows what to do with it. The "cleansing" may not fit into our schedule but it will eventually cleanse itself. I'm not saying to not do anything to contain it, just saying they are not focusing enough on the men who lost their lives. Where is the Memeorial Service for them? Why hasn't Obumbo gone to give a eulogy? Where is the concern for the families of the lost ones??

My guess its because its "Oil" and oil means big and bad. And coal is mostly poor people and with Robert "Sheets" Byrd and Jay Rockefeller being the Senators of Wva, influence peddling is at its worst here.
