Got to the lake and went to the dock to fish from my Puma. Lowered the boat, hit the key and ---nothing. I put all new batteries in last fall. Pull the boat up and check the battery. Completely dead! I tried to charge it at 10 amps and the fault light comes on. I try at 2 amps, it works for awhile and again the fault light. One more try and the battery will accept 2 amps charge but not 10 amps. I get pissed and hit it with a 50 amp starting charge. The fault light comes on. I pull off the charger and crappie fish from the dock. Limit out in a half hour. Tried the charger one last time and suddenly the battery is accepting 10 amps. I charge it overnight and lower it to fish this morning. IT WON'T START! I look at the gas gauge and it reads empty. I had put in 30 gal. when I put up the boat in November. Somebody stole the freakin gas. I couldn't believe it. You worried about gas theft when the price was near $5/gal. You don't expect it when gas is near $2/gal. I came home because severe weather is expected tomorrow and rain thru the weekend.
