Too early

Discussion in 'Talk, Talk (off topic)' started by Just Piddling, Mar 30, 2013.

  1. Several weeks ago, we planned a trip to Ft. Fisher for some camping and fishing. The last of March should be a good time with ~65* water temps. But nooooo, instead we have 50*. Which results in catching nothing but puffer fish. Not much of a fighter, they feel like pulling a water balloon through the water.

They do bite regularly, but most of the time, they bite deep enough that they cut the line with their Mainer women teeth

You can see my fancy BPS waders in the pic. Richard, to answer your earlier question. When the tide is out and you want to reach past the 3rd bar, you've got to wade through thigh deep water and I'm too much of a wuss to do it in shorts with 45* air temps.
