Want some chickens?

    Just Piddling .

    Have had some chickens for 2 years now and one finally decided to go broody (sit on the eggs). So I told my boy about having some chicks in about 3 weeks. Today I go to feed and water em and I notice the sitting hen was out, so I thought I'd see how many eggs she was sitting on (big mistake). After I quit screaming and performed some self CPR, I took this picture.

    After some serious engineering (a shovel and a stick) , I got him out of the house (them rascals are fast) and then proceeded to beat the ground with said shovel and stick like a caveman. The tactic worked fairly well, because he seemed shocked and stopped long enough for me to get one good head shot with the shovel.

    He turned out to be a little over 6' long. Now I get to clean my undies and tell my boy that we wont have any chicks. Store bought eggs don't sound so bad anymore.:doh:
