Well, CRAP!!!

    Was going to work today at around 430am. Got behind a slow poke and accelerated some to get around them and the truck just jerked like all hell! Got down the road a ways and noticed my RPMs are running somewhat high. I pulled off and notcied that I do not have reverse gear. Took it to the Chevy place across the road and they won't re-build it because of my mileage (248,400 miles) and only want to put a new one in....at $2800!! Gonna get a 2nd opine in the morning. Hoping I can get it re-built. Is it possible?? I just need it a few more weeks, copuple of months maybe before I ge a new truck. Am I screwed on this??
