Why? (Military)

1) Why do we train officers for 30 years to strategize and fight a war--then let civilians with limited training tell them how to fight it?
2) Why do we fight to save countries with people who hate us and have no strategic value?
3) Why do we expend huge sums of money and lives doing it?
4) Why do we take ---- from countries we can annililate?
5) Why do we have a policy of not fighting with overwhelming force?
6) Why do we not listen to our intelligence professionals when they give us the facts about war?
7) Why do we put make defense appointments based upon politics and not merit?

Feel free to continue or use these as a basis for a letter to your congressman. I sent my congressman a letter with almost 50 points to it. Be interesting to see if he responds.
