Any of you guys ever hunted with a
16 guage shotgun? Seems to me that it would do the trick on small/upland game without the overkill of a 12 ga. My dad brought me out an old Iver Johnson 16ga single shot. It's ROUGH! Been neglected in attics for probably 50+hrs. It was my grandfathers shotgun from when he was young. I tinkered around with it tonight, but had no shells for it and it's Sunday so I didn't try to find any, so I'm not really sure if it'll even fire (I might use a string for the first few shells lol). I'd think this shell would be good for doves and pheasant. Not sure about jackrabbit though. My only 12ga is a short barrel defense type shotgun that I can't find a plug for, so I'm going after doves this week, hopefully with the 16ga. I've also thought about sawing the barrel down to 18/12" and making it a snake gun.
