Dixie and Nebguy

I know the title sounds like a gay joke, but that was not my intention


A while back we had a discussion about dog foods. Today I went to Mars pet food (Nutro, Pedigree). I met our tech there and when we went in he said I had to step on this pad at the door, to remove contaminants from my shoes. Then we had to stick our hands in this machine that washed your hands (you didn't move them, it did the work), then hold them still while some blower dried them in about 5 seconds. Any tools brought in had to be sprayed and cleaned at the door. The place was spotless. No bags or food touched where it wasn't designated to touch. The only smell was the smell of kibble style food.

When we were leaving I told the tech that was a lot cleaner than I thought it would be. He said "you should see the other dog food place we service". I wont call the name, but this is the place that makes the food I think both of you use. Anyhow, he said the place was nasty, no contaminant safety at the doors, dog food all over the floor and the smell was rotten.

I brought their record up last time, but if you do a search, they have been shut down a few times and have several lawsuits against them in unexpected dog deaths. It was easy to post on what people were saying on the internet before, but now I have talked to someone that has actually been there.

Not to sound like a salesman, but Pet Smart's brand (Authority) has just as high quality ingredients as the food you are using. I had come down to those two brands, because they were almost identical, before I had read the safety reports and decided on the Authority.
